The last couple of weeks the weather has been down right cold! Well, for Mississippi standards it was cold. Highs in the 20’s and lots of wind – that always makes me curl up in lots of blankets and not want to go outdoors. Brrrr! But the cold front passed us by and now the temperatures are back up to a pleasant 65 degrees. My kind of winter weather.
I ventured back outside to walk through my yard and look at any of the remaining plants that weathered the cold snap. Honestly things are looking a little rough. Even the hardy plants that can tolerate weather in the teens were frozen a few too many times or the deer nibbled on them.
But as I looked at some of the dead leaves and seedheads still hanging around the garden, I saw the beauty in the patterns that were created. I went back in to get my camera and these are some of the photos I captured from this year and a few of my favorites from years passed. It just goes to show you that there is beauty in the garden no matter what time of year.
