Container Gardens from Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

I had the pleasure of touring the Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. These wonderful container gardens are from their 2015 plantings.

The color combination of the tropical plants and the height of these planters really capture the eye.

These very large planters on posts were in the Tropical Conservatory, so you know they like hot, humid conditions. They edges are lined with several trailing plants that will spill over the edges and down the posts, making a beautiful, organic “waterfall” effect. Wish I could see them once they were grown in some. You can see the creeping jenny just starting to grow over the edge. This mixed with the purple of the sweet potato vine will make for a beautiful combination.
